Found this place through the Happy Cow app looking for something different that had Vegan options. It's a wow for sure. Excellent atmosphere, service , and food. They very extremely accommodating with my vegan requests and everything tasted home made. I'll definitely be coming back. So glad to find great places like this!!

I judge a good Mexican restaurant by two things: Chips & Salsa and a house Margarita. Modesto knocked it out of the park! Not only that, but they have alternative sides that most Mexican restaurants don't. I was pleased with a ceaser salad with my pork and beef tacos. If you are near LSU, this is a must stop! Plus, you never know who you will run into.

I never heard of this place before. My husband brought me here. We decided to try it out and now is one of my favorite Mexican Restaurant around Baton Rouge. We have quite too many but not all of them have flavorful food. Modesto food is delicious.

Absolute fantastic experience; the ambiance was incredible with live music on Wednesday night. The drinks didn't disappoint, and the food kept me wishing I could eat past my capacity.

This is hands down my favorite Mexican spot in Baton Rouge. I am not a big Tex-mex fan so the motto "mas mex less Tex" drew me in. I love the el pastor tacos, street corn, and their chip seasoning. Seriously so good and the deals are great. Get a skinny margarita! Service is always fast. Modesto's takeout is great quality too. The patio is so nice on a summer evening.

Been wanting to try this restaurant and I think it's spot on. The ambiance definitely has the Hispanic culture and Mexican music with a modern twist. The service was very friendly and super quick. The food was extremely good and very good portions. Great food and will be coming back to try other items on menu.

I went to Modesto twice recently and it was so freaking good! I usually order the tacos, but the most recent time I went I decided to try something new and ordered the pollo del rey which was essentially fajitas for one. I am OBSESSED!!! I feel like anytime I go now I'll have to get them because they were possibly the best chicken fajitas I've ever had! The toppings were quality and the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. I also loved how it came with delicious chimichurri on top which is what made it stand out from other fajitas I've had. I also liked how you could get roasted potatoes or rice and beans with it because sometimes rice and beans is just heavy to me so I'm not in the mood for it. I also ordered a small house margarita during happy hour and they have some of my favorite margs! They are super super strong but so tasty at the same time. Also, I'd like to applaud Modesto for their incredible happy hour! Having their tacos all be $4, their dip trio be $10, and their house margs be half off is a crazy good steal! Sometimes I come just to order their dip trio during happy hour and that's enough for me. The staff is always friendly and I always enjoy hearing their recommendations. It's also just such a cute place inside and on the outside patio that has fans when it gets hot. I can't wait to go back for happy hour!

These are THE BEST TACOS I have had since leaving Texas last year. I had the brisket birria served with Au jus and grilled shrimp tacos with an order of the elotes. It was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The salsa served with the chips was very tasty as well. (And the salsa will make or break a restaurant for me). I will be back.
